This beer would be better suited as an ice-cream topping, or perhaps a peace offering between warring nations. Fortunately, it's available in drinkable bottle form. Upon capping you're going to get great coffee/chocolate aromas that made me think of a cold afternoon coffee in Paris; ballsy and dark. The beer pours dark, too, with maybe a half-finger of dark brown head and a very smooth syrupy thickness, no doubt helped by the oatmeal. The first punch is a strong coffee stout, with chocolate and malty goodness to finish. Founder's, out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a brewery that delivers consistently, and may well be one of the best craft breweries in the country. Their Breakfast Stout is among their best, and true to its name, is a fantastic addition to your waffles.
Best Drunk: From a coffee mug on the Saturday morning after Friday night bender. You need some "hair of the dog", you need an early morning (8.3% ABV) pick-me-up, and could use some breakfast too. This beer has you covered. Nuff said.
